Q: What is Children in Poverty Inverclyde?
A:  It is a non-profit charity registered on 7 January 2014 as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation number SC044563 registered office at 17 Langhouse Place Inverkip PA16 0EW.

Q: Where does Children in Poverty work?
A:  Our charity focuses on Inverclyde, principally Greenock and Port Glasgow, which contain the areas of highest deprivation and low income resulting in child poverty.

Q: Who does it help?
A: Our charity is for all, regardless of gender, age, orientation, religion, race, or ability.

Our objective is to provide assistance to those children whose families  face daily challenges within our key priority areas of poverty and deprivation.


Q. What type of project delivery are you involved in?
A: Our main thrust is in the provision of holidays for Inverclyde families in poverty to the beautiful scenic location of Hunters Quay Holiday Park on the Cowal Peninsula where the children enjoy great facilities with recreational and outdoor activities where they feel stimulated, energised, laugh and get them interested in life.

Children with additional support needs also figure prominently in holiday allocations.


Q: How is the money raised?
A:  We are not government or council funded and consequently income is derived from community fundraisers and personal donation via Just Giving.

We apply for external funding where the criteria is conducive with our charity’s key areas. 

Q: Does the charity pay remuneration or expenses to Trustees/volunteers?
A: Each individual pays for their own travel and meal costs incurred.

All income is invested fully without deduction for the benefit of impoverished children.

Q: How can I contribute financially to help the charity?
A: Financial support by donation can be made via internet banking, cheque and monthly

standing order or direct debit.

The Just Giving donate button on our first page is a very popular and simple method and has the

attraction of boosting your contribution by 25% Gift Aid if applicable.

To donate by charity legacy amount in your will, you will require to discuss this method with a solicitor who shall organise it subject to full explanation and understanding by you.
